We'd rather you read the rules before you book than discover them at the gate. So here they all are: the dog questions first, then the practical ones, in plain words with the reasons attached.

We built the security in layers, on purpose. There are automated gates at the entrance, a five-bar field gate behind them, and then your stable's own enclosed paddock. A dog that somehow slipped one boundary would still be inside two more. One guest even praised the gated entrance in their review without us ever prompting them, which tells us it matters as much to you as it does to us.
Two per stable, and they stay free. No dog fee, no per-night charge, nothing added at the end. If you take the whole place, that's up to four dogs across the two stables.
No, not any more. The paddock has been extended and split, so Oak and Elm each have one of their own. Your dogs run off the lead in a space that is private to your stable for the whole stay, with no taking turns with the dogs next door.
They will. This is the Forest of Dean and mud is part of the fun. That's what the dog wash station with blow drier is for: it's free, it's right here, and you can use it as often as you like. Muddy walk, warm dry dog, clean stable.
For a quick errand, yes - just clear it with Phil or Lauren first. Nobody wants the dog waiting in a hot car while you do the big shop. We ask that absences stay short - this is a holiday with the dogs, not dog-sitting - and anything damaged while you're out is yours to put right. All said here, before you book.
Sometimes, yes. This is Phil and Lauren's home: Alfie lives here, and family visit with their dogs too. None of them can get into the stables - we just say it now so nobody's surprised at the gate.
Both stables are entirely on the ground floor, so there are no stairs for you or an older dog to manage. And there are flat walks five minutes away, so not every outing has to start with a hill.
No. Chapel Hill is adults-only. Each stable sleeps two in a king bed, and even the whole place books as four adults plus up to four dogs. The dogs, on the other hand, are very much expected.
Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am. That window is how each stable gets properly turned around between guests.
Yes. There's an EV charging point by each stable at GBP 0.40 per kWh, payable to us directly. If you'd rather use a public charger, there are chargers in Lydney about a mile away and at Taurus Crafts about half a mile from us.
Not in the stables, and not in the gardens or the paddocks. Smoking and vaping are fine in your own parking area, where you'll find a sand bucket for the ends.
Yes. You can take the whole place: both stables together with sole use of both paddocks, up to four adults and four dogs, completely private behind the gates. We're still settling the finer details of how that booking works, so the honest answer on specifics is: ask us.
