Plenty of places will let a dog come along. We built Chapel Hill the other way round: the dogs are the point. Two dogs are welcome in each stable, they always stay free, and everything on this page exists because of them.
The paddock is the heart of it: a large enclosed grass paddock where your dogs can run off the lead while you stand there with a coffee instead of a lead in your hand. Our guests put it better than we can. "Our dog loved the large enclosed space where he could run around safely and securely." Another described "dogs very well catered for having their own enclosed paddock". Each stable has its own paddock, so the one your dogs run in is private to your booking. If you'd like the whole site to yourselves, take the whole place: both stables, and both paddocks for your whole stay.
The security is layered, and that's deliberate. Automated gates at the road entrance, a field gate beyond them, and the enclosed paddock inside that. A dog that slips one boundary is still inside two more. One guest noticed the "added security of the gated entrance" without us pointing it out. The reason for all of it is simple: nobody relaxes while they're scanning for escape routes.
Then there's the dog wash station with blow drier. Muddy walks are half the reason you come to the Forest, so there's a proper place to deal with the aftermath: a stainless steel tub, shower hoses and a blow drier, free to use, as often as you like. One guest whose dog never even needed it still wrote: "we thought it was an excellent addition and a really thoughtful feature for guests returning from muddy walks."
And before you arrive, we'll ask about your dogs: their names, what they love, what they can't have. Each dog gets a welcome pack made up by name, with treats waiting for them, and for you. We've not found another local place offering all of this together: the enclosed paddock, the free wash and blow-dry, per-dog welcome packs, and two dogs staying free.
